Agape in Action is a Christian non-profit organization. Our purpose is to demonstrate the love of God by delivering medical care to underdeveloped areas of the world and present the gospel of Jesus Christ.  We partner with other ministries in these developing countries. Being a part of this team means you represent Agape in Action, and partnering ministries.  We ask that you abstain from the following while on this trip; consuming alcoholic beverages, engaging in romantic relationships apart from your spouse, and using foul language.  Due to cultural differences we ask that you dress modestly, stay away from low cut shirts, form fitting clothes, pants should be capri style or knee length shorts. Scrubs will be worn during medical clinics.

If you have any questions or are interested in participating in this trip please contact Kristi or Cindy.

Sudan

sudan flagSudan, the mere mention of the country brings forth mental images of slavery, war, starvation, hate, hopelessness, oppression and death. It stirs a longing in our hearts to bring hope and help to the people there. The Southern Sudanese have suffered horribly at the hands of fellow countrymen. Thousands of men have been killed and the women and children sold into slavery. Story after story is told of how they were tortured and abused. There probably is not family that has not been touched in some way by the violence and devastation. Their needs are immense and overwhelming but we must do what we can, no, we are driven and compelled to do what we can to bring Light into darkness and Hope to hopelessness. We have been given an opportunity to travel there in November 2007 along with Cal Bombay Ministries (www.CalBombayMinistries.org) . The purpose of this trip is to visit a hospital that is being built in an area where there is currently no healthcare available. We want to find out how we can assist with fundraising for completion of the hospital as well as equipping it and helping train personnel. We also have offered to work there ourselves and the governmental official in charge has stated that he wants us to come! This is a huge undertaking and we desperately need your help. Our scouting trip in November will cost approximately $6000 for the both of us, the majority of that cost being for airfare. (We are not high maintenance gals that need a soft bed or hot showers so know we will cut costs however we can!) We plan on taking medications and other items for the Sudanese with us.

Rwanda

Rwanda flagSay "Rwanda" and most people automatically think of genocide. One of the worst ethnic cleansing's to take place happened there in 1994. Over the span of 100 days almost 1 million Rwandan's were slaughtered. It is a country that is healing but deep hurts and scars remain. We have a friend who is working in that country assisting "at risk" women and children, many of which live on the streets. We hope to be able to assist her with her ministry in the future. Please check back for further updates.
